Nature is a Busy Bee

Last week when we went to use the snowblower for the first time this Winter, Cameron noticed a hornet’s (wasp’s? some buzzing insects, anyway) nest that had been carefully built there over the Summer.
Doesn’t the wonder of nature and what animals go through just to survive make you marvel at the wonder of it all?
We are all busy bees in some way or another, aren’t we? Constantly rebuilding, growing, moving, throwing away, gathering more, renovating, decorating, and changing every day. Not to mention dealing with life’s unexpected hurdles, such as having your home blown about by a couple of humans and a giant spinning wheel of steel.
Luckily, in this part of the world at least we don’t have that to worry about!
It’s all relative, isn’t it.

Unfortunately wasps (if it is a wasp nest) like to return to the same spot every year – and they are VERY determined! Obviously I’ve had a few battles with them over the years and they DONT give up! But then, neither do I. I don’t mind them nearby but building under the seat of my lawnchair is a problem. I guess for you the snowblower isn’t too bad of a spot:) not something you use too much in the summer!

We have a wasps nest at the studio too! 3 kids have gotten stung so far :( It’s outside, but somehow the sneaky wasps are getting inside…

Maybe a little natural decoration for inside your home? My grandpa used to keep a hornets nest in his place and it was really pretty cool…
