Wow take me…we can start an icecream adventure around Prince Edward Island! Maybe I will bike or run from place to place so I can still fit in a bathing suit by the time August rolls around.

Wow – these story line plus its accompanying illustrations are great “food for thought.” sort of surrealistic. I checked for the “icecream in hand” in the first and third photos, and for the Murray Harbour Wharf beside the second photo! No problem whatsoever that they aren’t there I intuit that you didn’t know your story line until you got back home! But this juxtaposition makes for a great read!!!
    lots of love, mom!

    Hi L-J

Great work!!! Got a charge out of the weaving in your post….well done!

“visit Brehaut’s for milkshakes and ice cream” is a wonderful tag phrase. Typing it into google found some of your sites as well as this one that I particularly like.

I loved the photos especially the one you have chosen for your Facebook profile.

I went exploring after our talk on the 17th and was very impressed by what I found.

(the videos are totally pro. Was that with the Flip?)

BTW thanks for the tea it was just the way I like it. lol

Kudos to Barry for his recommendation.

Keep doing L J, your work is awesome!…

    Smiles :o)

You must drive across the Confedertion Bridge and visit the Bouctouche Dunes (for a nice stroll) and then go to Olivier Soaperie so you can treat yourself to some exquisite handmade soap. That’s what you should do ….

Definitely plan a day trip to St.Peters, and take a stroll through Greenwich National Park, very pretty! You can grab an ice cream in St.Peters on the way!

I agree with Cindee! Did wxactly that on our second last night of our PEI vacation last week! Great milkshakes and the walk on Greenwich beach was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! And it is so close to our new homes Laura-Jane :) Sorry we didn’t have the time to stop in and introduce ourselves but one week just didn’t give us much time for anything. Hoping to get back for 2 weeks next summer and meet you both then!

I grew up in one of those small towns that is out of the way. It was a wonderful place to live and grow up. I am glad you were able to explore some and had a chance to see some of the great stuff around you. When I was a kid, we knew when new folks stopped by and stayed a night. It was big excitement!

Yes, agreed, nice pics (very cool lighting).

In response to your question, “Have you been anywhere new lately?” I started to write a big, long-worded response, but decided it needed some more space. So I took to my own blog (http://felipebeach.wordpress.com/2009/07/06/have-you-been-anywhere-new-lately/) and did just that.

Thanks for the thought food, Laura-Jane!

We arrived on PEI by way of Confederation Bridge. BREATHTAKING journey across the bridge.
I agree 1 week on the Island is not enough time but we did have more important things to do (like a wedding).
Daughter-in-law’s parents provided us with a fantabulous lobster dinner one night and another day arranged a fishing boat trip which was AWESOME!!!!!! We toured the Potato Museum in O’Leary and dearly wish we had more time to spend in that charming village, of course found the time to do a little shopping and with 2 young boys along had to work in stuff that they too would enjoy. We stayed at Country Haven Cottages so had close access to a castle building beach for the boys.
But the newlyweds will be headed to UAE for 2 years of teaching next month.
PEI has certainly found a place in my heart and hope to make another visit sometime in the future.
We arrived back home (Arkansas) to very muggy and hot weather. Will take a little adjusting and boo-hoo back to work on Tuesday.

Wow, your journey has come and gone already! I’m so glad to read your trip was a success. It is a breathtaking trip across the bridge. I’ve only done it once, and it was foggy. I look forward to doing it once again on a clear day.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the potato museum. We’ll have to put that on our to-do list, too.

Congratulations to all of you for a successful wedding.

Thanks for keeping us updated. Good luck settling back in in Arkansas..and work!

    Hi L J

I read Freda’s account of her PEI visit and was heart warmed that they enjoyed their visit to the Prince Edward Island Potato Museum.

Having been a resident of Unionvale near O’Leary in the late 80’s I was actually part of the original board that created the museum.

Thank you Freda for your kind words and here is a very short video about the museum that I thought you (and everyone) might enjoy.

p.s. I think I see a pattern forming here. lol

    Hi Laura-Jane!

I stumbled upon your blog a few weeks ago and have been obsessively reading ever since! It’s been a great way to keep me entertained during my night shifts at work, and I was sad to realize tonight that I’m finally up-to-date and will now have to wait for you to post instead of reading at my own leisure :)

I’ve been trying lots of new food lately and found an amazing little place today in downtown Charlottetown called the Maple Grille. I had heard lots of great things about it before but have never eaten there before until today. My boyfriend and I went and we both ate for just $23 and the food was amazing – I had honey dijon chicken breast with roasted baby red potatoes and veggies, my boyfriend had butter chicken flatbread pizza with Caesar salad. I highly recommend trying it out next time you’re in town during the day (we’re planning on going for dinner soon but apparently the dinner prices are a little pricier).

Thanks again for entertaining me during some long nights; I can’t wait for the next update from Whimfield :)
