Happy Birthday, Hochelaga!

Yesterday, Canada Day, we took yet another day off! It’s crazy, we’re taking days off all over the place, which is very unlike us. At any rate, the big city of Charlottetown was putting on a large, free, Canada Day extravaganza, and when it comes to free, we have a hard time saying no.
Here I am with a giant sand-sculpture of a potato (of course)!
Here’s Cameron getting cozy with Sir John A. MacDonald at the Founder’s Hall’s exhibit (free admission this Canada Day)!
We also saw a number of great musicians, including Hey Rosetta! (my favourite of the day, shown below) and Karkwa (Cameron’s pick of the day).
Well, I’d better go and get something done before the end of the day arrives and this happens to us:

Happy Canada Day, albeit belated! Sounds like you had a fun day. Good for you!
America gets her big day of celebration on Friday. I am seizing the opportunity of a Friday holiday for an extended long weekend and not coming back ’til the 9th! Must survive today and tomorrow first …

No time for celebration for you, brick laying only! :)
I’ve just enjoyed reading a nice chunk of your blog while I ate a veggie burger this evening.
I am amazed at your drive and motivation. When I was working a full-time job, it was all I could do to open the fridge and make a sandwich after work–and you spend hours with the rotozip!
NEEENEEEEENUHHHHHH. I know exactly how that sounds. Our tool that makes me worry about the neighbours is the skill saw. I was once visiting a neighbour acres away when I realized that that horrible screeching was coming from our very own yard.

I’ve just taken some time and updated myself is some long over due reading, and i just have to say = I’m incredibly proud of you and Cam for all you accomplished this last year. this move to P.E.I. has certainly challenged you in many ways, but you’ve raised to the occasion. WoW!
On a side note – are you still playing the cello?

Hello dear LJ!
I am finally emerging from my abyss of being AWOL for two years (in other words, being too exhausted to keep up with anything other than the bare minimum), and now here I am with the Internet at my fingertips! I didn’t even realize that you were blogging somewhere new… I have much, much, catching up to do! I look forward to it.
Love,

Thanks for sharing a bit of Canada Day. I’m living in the US now, but sat on my deck with my Canadian flag behind me having a glass or red wine in a white cup.

Good to see you are taking in some events. The stage setup looks very impressive. They certainly didn’t cheap out on it. I like the pic of Cam after a long day out on the town!!!

Dagny, I am glad to have provided a reminder of home. I’ve never been out of the country on Canada Day, I can only imagine that it must feel strange.
Aah, Mom Lerch, I love you!
