Where does one find phosphorescent plankton! I’ve swam in it elsewhere in the world, but not on PEI. Is it everywhere? Probably more of a chance thing?

Thunder Cove was where we were, as long as the plankton is blooming you can find it on PEI. A friend went to Thunder Cove last night and it was still there.

Arctic water we have ‘up’ here? I can say the swimming in BC waters was never a warm experience, really. And I can also ‘boast’ that Shediac, NB has very warm ocean waters for swimming in. In truth, my memories of swimming in PEI waters is sketchy at best but I don’t recall frigid temps.

And if you like bathwater, the tidal river across the street where I live in Ste. Marie de Kent, NB is really warm. There’s a little creek that spills spring water into a certain area where we swim and it’s most refreshing!

I’m sad to see summer slowly slipping away. It seemed so short.

PEI waters were known as ‘the warmest waters north of Florida’. Do you think it’s
    so?

Kay re: warmest waters… Yes and no! We went to Panmure Island, and the water was warm! We went to Basin Head, and the water was…cold!

Other places that phosphorescent plankto are: Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Japan. The water has to be just right for them to grow. We did it when we were in Puerto Rico. Pretty cool — seeing your body light up w/the little things…we were even squirting it from our mouths to see a “rainbow effect” and thought “coooool”….and then realized “ewww” all the plankton in our mouths”! :P
