i loved reading your “trip across canada” adventure. my wife and i are planning to drive our 89 chevette across canada very soon. we had looked at all sorts of adventurous places around the world to visit, but realized we live in such an amazing country its here we should explore 1st…
mile zero in victoria is just a few hundred yards from our home and as like you we don`t really know where we are driving to, except that we want to see as much of canada as we can…

we loved your pictures and your sense of adventure it was really motivating and moving all rolled into one…..i hope your new home in p.e.i. is everything you dreamed of and life is treating you both well…

how is the truck running these days?

any advice for us?

Hi guys!

Just wanted to say thanks for an awesome blog! I am really enjoying to read it from start to finish. I stumbled across it by following a link from hearth.com, doing my research of wood stoves (we are getting a Blaze King too BTW!). In many ways we have a similar story to yours – that might be on e of the reasons why I enjoy reading your blog so much! :-) Anyways, I also wanted to say thanks for inspiring me to start my own Blog. Reading yours made me want to record what has happened to us before it all disappears into the black hole of my memory….

Hello Laura-Jane and Cameron!

I found your website through PEI chat. My husband and I moved from Nanaimo last spring, so I was excited to see your post.
We, too, have always wanted to escape the rat-race, so to that end, bought 25 acres in the Eldon area. My husband is currently building a small house for us. I keep telling him to hurry up because we’re living in a 22 ft. travel trailer and it’s freezing inside. But you know all about that!
We moved across Canada in a semi (hubz has his Class 1) and that was an adventure. I admire your courage moving across in the dead of winter! Late April was soon enough for me, and it was still cold when we got here. I can’t wait to see how I fare in a Maritime winter (seeing as how I froze to death in the tropics of Vancouver Island!)
It is interesting to discover how many folks like us are moving here. We met a couple from Langley (we bought chickens from them) and they moved last year into an old house they’d purchased over the internet.
You’ve got a great website and blog. I will read it all in good time, I am sure!
