Christmas Arrives So Fast

When are you supposed to put up your Christmas tree? Because it’s almost Christmas and we still haven’t put up a tree or any decorations yet.
I did send out about six Christmas cards, and I think we played Christmas music once, but that’s been the extent of our celebrating so far.
I have a vague recollection that I used to be involved in Christmas. I think there were Christmas trees and wreath-making and shopping and family dinners.
In fact, I even dug out a few pictures from Christmas pasts to prove it.
I was recently writing to a graphic designer friend about posting a Christmas-themed post here at Whimfield, and I said, “Maybe we should wait until a little closer to Christmas.” And she said, “Um, Laura-Jane, Christmas is almost here!” It seems that she was right.
But I think that soon…we’ll be doing something Christmassy…very soon. We have to!

Hi Laura-Jane and Cam
Nice pics.
Remember the three ladies that I was telling you about the other evening. Allison, Barb and Lisa who are just now setting up the Secret Woman’s Business Network. Well it just so happens that they are conducting a SWBN Christmas Quiz.
Dropping twenty clues over five days for twenty movie titles. The neat part is that they are using Twitter and FriendFeed to give out the clues.
Anyway Lisa has made a catchup video to help everyone get all of the clues and guess all of the movies before the deadline for entry. December 21st Midnight Eastern time. (1:00 a.m. Dec 22nd our time) Entries are to be emailed to them by then.
Click the link to watch Lisa’s catchup video and join in the fun (if you like this sort of thing)

The holidays are just the best time to catch up on movies.

Oops I was wrong on the closing dates. It’s Midnight Eastern US time on December 22nd or 1:00 a.m. on December 23rd for us. Then the winners are to be announced on Christmas Eve.
These girls are time warped with Allison in Australia, Barb on the West coast of Canada and Lisa in the UK.
Sorry bout the oops.
Smiles :o)

Where I live, Christmas decorations go up about 2 wks after the Halloween decorations come down. EVERY occasion calls for a flurry of decorating by many of the folks around here and they’re just as quick to remove any trace of the event within a day after.
Seems you have bigger fish to fry just now so why worry about it. I try to decorate a little but I’ll never go gung-ho. Just enough to envoke a bit of the Christmas magic from my childhood. And I must have a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.. and tunes from the old days… and Christmas lights.. and (LOL) OK, no more ‘ands’. We don’t have children so we don’t buy gifts for each other. Too much stress to shop and too much commercialism, IMO. We like it that way.

Maybe you need to just string some popcorn and cranberries (that was a tradition we used to do anyhow) and hang it on one of your outdoor trees for the birds and squirrels to enjoy!

Now I know I have just read a blog on here about making a list, Christmas is one of those things to be moved to the top……before vacumning LOL. Even if you don’t go crazy on the decorating you at least have to have a good Christmas dinner……do you have a fully functioning kitchen yet?

I got my little surprise in the mail. Thanks for thinking of me. I wanted to send one to you, but until I had your card I didn’t know where to send it. Bwahahahaha now I have it!!! I wonder if carrot cake mails well …..
Merry Christmas to you both. And your not missing anything weather wise here on the west coast. It’s pretty much the same thing your experiencing.

@Gary – Thanks for the links! I do remember what we were talking about. I’ll check them out. :)
@Tipper – You’re right, we did! Post forthcoming.
@Michelle – You are one of those gloriously organized people!!
@John – You’re right, we did have a crazy blizzard. It actually knocked our internet out for 24 hrs plus!
@Warren – I love that idea. I’ve never actually make any popcorn stings, although perhaps as a kid I did, now that I think about it.
@Nora – Our kitchen is a fridge and a stove in an empty room. No sink, no cupboards, no counters… It’ll come, eventually! As you can imagine, though, we are not doing very much cooking!
@LJ – It was my pleasure. I have many fond memories of receiving your lovely hand-made cards. Are you surviving the BC blizzards?

No… I’m not THAT organized. My neighbours are, LOL! I did put my decorations up about 3 weeks ago though.

@Michelle – Anything like, a week before Christmas is organized in my book. ;)
