Hello!!
I'm currently a student undertaking a practicum at a hospital in Alberta, Canada. I hope to complete my program in a few months and look forward to taking a trip to Europe if possible. I balance my practicum with a part time job as well...so I'm usually very busy and on the move. When I do have extra time, I love to read, listen to music, and enjoy challenging myself w/ brain teasers;)
Happy holidays everyone!!!

I am 32 years old, I work a job that requires me to be on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week and 365 days a year. The job makes life a bit stressful and having children one who is age 4 and expecting another one the beginning of march. Life is a bit busy with all of these things going on so I don't get a chance to do this very often but when I can it is a great stress releiver. In my spare time what little I have I enjoy the outdoors and have introduced my son to new things such as hockey and skiing. We live in a small city in southern alberta, my wife is from northern Ontario. This is a great contest you have and I hope to win good luck to everyone!!

Hey
I'm recovering from a minor surgery but it's taught me a lesson: It's actually true what you hear - your health is the most important thing.

Can't wait to go surfing!!!!!!!!!!

(don't know if it's past the contest time...but here goes...)

I'm Ellen and I just turned 31. I've been married for 2.5 years to a Canadian (I'm an American from NYC, the Bronx..) I love ballroom dancing and that is how I met my husband - he was my dance partner, a Canadian basketball playing tall handsome guy who fit my personality, energy and dreams in life. Coming from NYC, I went to college in upstate NY for psychology after wanting to be a veterinarian all my life (my 1st class in bio changed that forever!) and now I own my own wedding consulting business in Ontario. After graduation, I lived in Boston and then moved to Toronto (a long immigration story should be here but I will spare the details!!! but pretty much my husband was denied back into the US so I went back w/o him for 3 months to sell stuff, pack up remaining and move north! After a year, we moved to Niagara Falls --- even though I always wanted to move to PEI. (Very inspired by Anne of Green Gables at an early age!).

So I work from home in my wedding business and I am also pregnant with our first child --- which we find out the gender today (on American Thanksgiving, no less!). I still love dancing (though its different now with a 20lb bump), love cooking and decorating, planning parties, reading, meeting people and crafty things! I also love travelling and would love to do some more -- particularly to Australia!

Our baby blog is www.when1plus1makesthree.wordpress.com I think you should read it bc apparently not only have I become a huge source of entertainment (to my husband and family) with my range of quick changing emotions and the "situations" I find myself.....but it's our first child and so my perspective (I believe) is fresh, innocent and oh so looking for advice ---- pls comment/post at any time!!

I'm also very busy. I didn't think I'd respond to this question, but as I was working late into the night I suddenly stopped.

I bought a new calendar today - black and white photography of Paris in 1940s & 50s. I had to hang it up early, just to admire the cover shot for the next month. I felt my blood pressure lower and my work-induced stress fade as I entered the calm of the tree-lined boulevard where a capped man in a suit hunched over a glass of wine with a dog relaxing by his feet. And then, I scooped up the cardboard insert and started writing this list of things that I love right now. So, in the spirit of living in the moment, I'll share an abridged version here because it's who I am right now.

black and white Paris. Art Nouveau. The Edwardian Lady: The Story of Edith Holden. incense and essential oils. French Films. flower blossom loose leaf tea. picking flowers. candlelit baths. scarves, a bracelet and arm-warmers. baking bread. Bikram yoga. Rembrandt's nudes. cherry jam. insightful workshops. snuggling in with a good book. energy and touch. Lady Grey tea. leafless tree silhouettes against the night sky.

I am 24 and a student, I'm doing master's degree in Library and Information Studies and would love to be a librarian someday. I love books, which is probably the worst reason to be a librarian, but thankfully there are other reasons, too, including a love of readers and reading and a commitment to customer service. I grew up in a really small town, population 900 people, and then moved to Toronto, which was a great shock. Now I live in Alberta, but I really miss my friends and family. This past summer I had my gallbladder removed, and while it was painful, it was also the best diet I've ever had, and lost over 75 pounds. And that's me!

I'm 40 and making my way through a bit of a mid-life crisis. :) Was born in the UK and moved to Winnipeg when I was 5 years old. Grew up there but discovered Vancouver towards the end of my university days. Moved here 2 days after my last exam and have never looked back. A chance to move to Australia is starting to materialize though so who knows whether I may be in for another passport one day!!

I am a 31 year old, who is married and I live and have grown up in Scarborough, Ontario. I have been suffering mulitiple illnesses and hospitalizations over the past 3 years, so I have unfortuanetely been unable to work to to my disability. But I have a very loving, supportive and caring husband and family who help me and keep me strong and maintain positivity as much as they possibly can. Despite my ongoing illnesses, I maintain a positive outlook on life in general, and hae faith and hopes of a wonderful future ahead, as well as big dreams. I have no children as of yet, but hopefully will one day in the future when I am "HOPEFULLY" feeling better. I have a wonderful 3 year old Parrot (Alexandrine Parakeet) named Franklin, who is like my lil' feathered child, and has kept me comapny throughout all this. He is very talkative, and very loved and spoiled (Of course!!!.lol....). He makes me smile each and every day, and I always look forward to spending lots of time with him, he has been great company for me. Hopefully I can start travelling one day again with my hubby, as I love to travel as well, love to read, and spend time with loved ones. :)
